CSCSHC is excited to continue and expand our H.O.S.T.S. volunteer reading tutor program to all three of our elementary buildings for the 2019-2020 school year and we need YOUR help!
Research shows that one-on-one tutoring makes an impact. Come make a difference in a child’s life by being a one-on-one reading tutor for just one hour per week.
H.O.S.T.S. meets during the school year at Brandywine Elementary, New Palestine Elementary, and Sugar Creek Elementary.
Mentors work on reading skills with one second-grade student and one third-grade student for 30 minutes each. All materials are provided and no training is necessary. Mentors choose which day of the week and how often they mentor. Mentors can also choose to be a substitute only.
During the 2018-19 school year, every third-grade child enrolled in the H.O.S.T.S. program passed the IREAD-3 reading assessment test. Your help can make a difference!
If you are interested in becoming a mentor, please contact Community Relations Director Wes Anderson at email@example.com.
